Ridiculous shopping experience

Alright, today was the day I went to Wal*Mart and purchased all my stuff for Liberia…. I do not have NEARLY enough skirts, but I can’t find any that fit comfortably. I have two dresses, a bunch of shirts, and two potential skirts. Hopefully something works! It’s going to be hot, wet, and humid the entire time. I need to subtract a few things from the bill, but it was quite spendy. Seriously, the prices have really gone up on items and it’s really ridiculous.

Still no letters from the world  have come in  (http://keshiastravels.wordpress.com/lettersfromtheworld/). I did however receive a post today 🙂 From a tag. I am waiting on my shirts, some postcards, and a pack of stationery. I have 12 days til I leave for Liberia 🙂 I need to organize some stuff for postcards and then unload all the stuff from the bags and order it in my cases to take to the Packing party the night before we leave for Liberia. Man, there is a TON of stuff!

You guys should comment! I get frustrated with talking mainly to myself. It is not hard to comment for you is it? If it is, you should let me know! Mainly by leaving a comment, but you can help let me know what you want to read about my later. You should ask questions, give suggestions, and let me know what you like 🙂 Thanks!

  1. Yep, it’ll definitely be hot and humid thanks to the rainy season! Those rectangular, quick-drying camping towels you can get at REI and other places also come in handy. Oh, and don’t forget a rain jacket 😀

    • Hahaha, I have one of those! Actually two. But I am so beyond prepared for it to just be hot, humid, and generally miserable weatherwise that I am prepared to just enjoy it.

Don’t get me started about the bugs/spiders. I can’t wait to take pictures of them and have a whole blog just about the bugs/spiders/rodents while in Liberia! Hahahaha

  2. Hi,
I just found your blog through Postcrossing.
Not sure what to say… still reading 😉
But just wanted to say you are not talking to yourself.. there are people reading!
When are you leaving for Liberia? I think its a very good thing to do!!
Well just go on with your blog and know that people are reading…
    Greetings from the Netherlands,

Ps… I might write you a letter from the world..

    • Hi! Thanks Roos for leaving a comment! I leave for Liberia on June 18th and will return on July 4th! I am super excited! I don’t know what’s going to happen while I am over there, but I am going to be ready for anything!
Again, thanks for commenting! And I would love a letter from you for the Letters from the World project! I have not had any come in yet, but I am not giving up hope. This project will be long term and it’s going to go on for a while!

      Thank you again!

  3. Hey I understand the cost. 400.00 just at Costco and Walmart. for the trip. Not including the 400 plus on clothes. Boy, I know it will be worth it. But I did not expect the big price tag after the initial cost….I know that God has everything in control Trust in Him.

    • Diane, I think I am going to wait to buy anymore clothes til we are in Liberia. 🙂 I’m brining over cash for that and other things! I feel that I will want Liberian clothes when I get home anyway. Plus, then I will have proper clothes to wear while I am there!! I get you on that price, I got everything on our list and suggested list, but I still feel like I don’t have enough!

  4. Hi Keshia! I confess I’m one of those people that often reads blogs and enjoys them, but can never think of anything halfway near as good to reply! So for once, here I am commenting…woah I’m out of my comfort zone lol. I got here from Postcrossing too 🙂 I live in Australia at the moment, but I’m English, and before November 2009, England is where I’d lived all my life. Hopefully I’ll get back there someday soon, I miss Europe! Liberia sounds like it will be an incredible experience, looking forward to reading about it 🙂 Take care.

    • Hey Jemma! thanks for letting me know you read!! I one day hope to move to England 🙂 Its been my dream to become a nurse here in the America’s, pay off my student loans, save a ton of money, move to England, then from England move down to Africa in a few years 🙂 I don’t know why, but that always seemed like fun!
Take care! Hope you read soon 🙂
