Civil Compound- Liberia 2012

This is Civil Compound, basically it is out in the bush. To get here this year was an adventure in itself, a fun adventure!! Since it was “drizzling”, we were walking through puddles as high as our thighs, and when trekking through the bush I had my camera put in a plastic bag in my pack for safety. However, I do have some pretty amazing pictures still to share. I have to start the tale of our adventures to Civil…

Sinkor and 11th Street

An overview of Serve the Children in Liberia. 1. They have three schools located in Liberia. One is in Monrovia known as Sinkor, the other is at 15Gate just off the Firestone reservation, and the third one is in the Firestone reservation known as Civil Compound. I am at a great place in life right now. I haven’t felt more confident in…

Ok, previously I talked about people who impacted my trip, and I am going to come back to that portion of my trip. Let me move onto my favourite aspect of the trip. People. 🙂 Oh, didn’t I say I would come back to that portion of my trip… well. I can’t leave it to come back to it! The reason is because I met so many wonderful people during my stay in Togo on the Mercy Ship, to separate…

Africa 2012, Togo, Mercy Ship.

Alright!! So here is the run down. We got in on Friday at 8pm. We came to the team house, had dinner, unpacked, went to bed. I am pretty sure Steena and I stayed up and only had an hour nap the entire 26+ish hours we were traveling… (I also think my math is off on how long we travel). The flights were fun, Steena and I sat next to each other ALL the time, slept on each other, or…
